Yes, some people may stand in your path.

I learned the hard way how little control I truly

A year ago, a fellow Change-maker told me: 💬 "

A year ago, a fellow Change-maker told me:

💬 "How do I match my corporate income in my consultancy side business?"
💬 "Am I too late to start over at 40?"
💬 "What if I fail?"

I could feel the weight of these questions—ones many of my clients wrestle with, and I’ve asked myself too.

The key is to spot gravity problems:
❌ They keep you stuck.
❌ The solution feels impossible.
❌ They’re just facts of life.

To move forward, you need the 2 R’s:
✅ Radical Acceptance
✅ Reframe

Radical Acceptance:
👉 Accept what’s outside your control—like time or age. Focus on what you can control.
👉 Scaling your side business takes time. Set a plan and take action.
👉 You’re 40? Great—you can bring your energy and wisdom to reinvention.

Reframe the Challenge:
💬 "How do I match my corporate income?"
✍ "What steps can I take now to start generating income with less risk?"

💬 "Am I too late to start over?"
✍ "What if my experience at 40 is my greatest strength?"

💬 "What if I fail?"
✍ "What can I learn, and how will it help my next chapter?"

A client recently asked me this, and it struck a chord. At defining moments in our careers, especially during transitions, many of us wonder:
💡 Who am I without this title?
💡 What unique value do I bring beyond my achievements?

This client felt torn between two leadership styles: action-oriented and assertive vs. empathetic and collaborative. My advice? You don’t have to choose. Today’s world needs both.

𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐡𝐚𝐬 𝐭𝐰𝐨 𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐬:
Masculine qualities like structure and competitiveness, and feminine traits such as empathy and adaptability. These aren’t about gender—they’re approaches that work best in harmony.

Leadership has long leaned on the masculine. While effective, it can overlook essential human needs like connection and creativity. Balancing these qualities creates deeper, more impactful leadership.

✨ Start balancing today:

Decision-making: Combine data with emotional awareness.
Communication: Listen fully before responding.
Teamwork: Blend taking charge with inclusivity.
Self-leadership: Lead authentically, not from pressure.
Balanced leadership inspires change and celebrates all strengths. Let’s honor assertiveness in women without judgment and applaud empathy in men without labels.

So, I ask you:

What comes next in my career is a scary question.

What comes next in my career is a scary question. But, I see it as a blessing, too.

One day, I connected with a brilliant woman.
She had a rich career in Tech.
Her long-term plan was to become a CEO.
Her short-term plan was to get promoted.
So, she hired me as her coach + her mentor.
She knew I’d spent 17 years in Tech, and
I could help her work on herself to climb higher.

But the company was being acquired.
She knew she could be affected by the layoffs.
And that…terrified her.
She’d poured YEARS into a single career path.
She didn't know what she'd do.

In our very first session together, I asked her:
“Why is this promotion important to you?”

“I’ve always wanted to climb the ladder,” she said.
But as she spoke, I noticed something.
There was no spark in her eyes.
No joy in her voice.
So, I gently asked her to close her eyes.
To slow down.

And in that moment, something shifted.
Her face softened, and tears started to flow…
“Catherine, I DON’T even want that promotion!”
And then, almost in a whisper…
“But what will people think of me if I say no?
She had built her career, her very sense of self…
around what others expected of her:
Her boss.
Her manager.
Her parents.
The world.
And in their eyes, she had “made it.”

In her own eyes?
She didn’t know who she was.
Her job title became her identity.

And the idea of stepping away from that climb?
It terrified her. Who would she be without it?

But over time, she started to see this fear for what it was—a blessing.
It made her pause & ask herself for the first time:
Is this the life I want?

Today, she’s still successful, but on her terms.
She's growing her side business alongside her 9-to-5 + writing her first book.
There is NO deadline for figuring out your path.
No SINGLE, linear path.

Your path isn’t something you’re late to…
it’s evolving, just like you.
You don't have to be ONE thing anyway.
You only need (emotional) permission to act on it.
